EMUI 9.1, which debuted on the Huawei P30, is now available for the Huawei Mate 20, Huawei Mate 20 Pro, Huawei Mate 20 X and Porsche Design Huawei Mate 20 RS. There’s a caveat, though: the release is in its beta form, so it could be rife with bugs.
That’s an issue because once the experimental build of EMUI 9.1 has been installed, customers won’t be able to revert back to EMUI 9.0.1 — the latest stable version of EMUI for both the Huawei Mate 20 and Porsche Design Huawei Mate 20 Series.
For that reason, and that reason alone, wouldn’t recommend installing EMUI 9.1 on your main device until it’s in a more coherent form as the current build could render core functions useless. After all, the whole point of a beta is to weed out the bugs.
