Huawei has started rolling out EMUI 9.1 for the Huawei Mate 20 Lite, Huawei P10, Huawei P10 Plus, Huawei Nova 3, Huawei Nova 3i and Huawei Nova 2s. There’s an important caveat, though: the release is in its beta form, so it could be rife with bugs.
The move comes a little more than a week after Huawei distributed a near-identical release for the Huawei Mate 20, Huawei Mate 20 Pro, Huawei Mate 20 X and Porsche Design Huawei Mate 20 RS, and around a month after it debuted on the Huawei P30.
It’s worth noting that the build of EMUI 9.1 for all the aforementioned handsets, save for the Huawei P30, is experimental. And for some strange reason, Huawei locked down the option to revert back to EMUI 9.0.1 — the latest stable build.
For that reason, and that reason alone, wouldn’t recommend installing EMUI 9.1 on your device until it’s in a more coherent form as the current build could render core functions useless. After all, the whole point of a beta is to weed out the bugs.
