Huawei has confirmed that the Huawei Mate X will launch in June. The firm refrained from casting a date into the wild, however rumor-spinners have said it will arrive on June 20 — though that doesn’t seem likely seeing as it’s a Sunday.
Still, it’s reassuring that Huawei is unfazed by the issues surrounding the Samsung Galaxy Fold, which resulted in its Korean rival cancelling two regional launch events, before later applying the brakes to the release of the handset altogether.

The Huawei Mate X is Huawei’s first foldable smartphone, unfurling to reveal a stunning 8-inch AMOLED screen. Under the hood, there’s a Huawei-made HiSilicon Kirin 980 CPU, 8GB of RAM and 512GB of expandable internal storage.
Flip the Mate X over and you’re greeted by a Leica-engineered quad-camera — made up of a 40MP wide, a 16MP ultra-wide, an 8MP telephoto and an Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor; though the specification of the latter is unknown.
