Huawei has quietly introduced its first smartphone to sport a popup camera. The smartphone, dubbed P Smart Z, has been listed on Huawei’s official websites for Spain and Italy. It is available for purchase in Italy already and is expected to be available in Spain and a few other markets in Europe very soon.
The Huawei P Smart Z features a 6.59-inch notch-less display with 1080 x 2340 Full HD+ resolution and a tall 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It runs on a Kirin 710F octa-core processor with an ARM Mali-G51 MP4 GPU. The P Smart Z is available in just a single variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. Huawei has equipped the P Smart Z with a 16MP + 2MP dual-camera setup at the rear. Similar to other recent Huawei phones, the P Smart Z supports AI scene detection and an AI portrait mode.
For selfies, the smartphone has a 16MP popup camera that is claimed to have been tested over 100,000 times to ensure high durability. Some of the other key features of the new mid-range smartphone from Huawei include a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, USB Type-C port, and a 4000mAh battery. The smartphone runs on the company’s latest EMUI 9.0, which is based on Android 9.0 Pie.
The Huawei P Smart Z is priced at €279 in Italy. Color options on offer include Midnight Black, Emerald Green, and Sapphire Blue. While it does not have a gradient design on the back, you do get a two-tone finish similar to Google’s Pixel phones.
